A metre is roughly the width of an open car door. It\u2019s also enough space to give yourself reaction time if someone <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wimbledondrivingschool.com\/bay-park-5-easy-steps\">steps out from between parked<\/a> cars.<\/p><p><strong>Narrow roads<\/strong><br \/>If the road is too narrow for you to spare a full metre, slow down. Remember that adequate clearance means creating a protective bubble to front and sides as well as the back.
