In this post, we\u2019ll find out how much it really costs to learn to drive<\/a> as well as sharing some tips to help you get the most value out of your lessons and hopefully reduce the cost of learning to drive.<\/span><\/p>\n

How much does it cost to learn to drive?<\/b><\/h3>\n

Let\u2019s break down the cost of learning to drive. Firstly there\u2019s the cost of your provisional license, the cost of taking your theory test and the cost of learning resources (like a package containing a highway code<\/a>, DVD and revision book).<\/span><\/p>\n

According to <\/span>Compare The Market<\/span>, the national average cost of an hour long driving lesson is \u00a329.20 and the average learner requires 45 of these lessons to get pass-ready. This puts the cost of tuition at \u00a31,314. Then, of course, there\u2019s the cost of your practical test itself which will cost more for evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Altogether, learner drivers can expect to pay a little short of \u00a31,500 on average assuming that you apply for your provisional license online and take your test on a weekday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
